Singer/Songwriter Jake Zimma Releases New Track as Ode to Hometown
Jake Zimma, a San Francisco Bay Area native dropped his latest track, “Oh, San Francisco”, as a homage to the city he calls home. A labor of love, this song speaks to the west coast hub’s illustrious history and cultural significance and is a track to cherish amid the challenges of COVID and political outcry. Now streaming on all platforms.
Jake Zimma is an emerging California singer-songwriter and guitarist with musical nods to hip hop, reggae, R&B, blues, rock, and most things funky. His sound combines electronic production with live instrumentation and is often compared to Dennis Lloyd, Chet Faker, and Post Malone. Despite the comparisons, Jake Zimma’s sound is entirely his own.
Jake had a fiery start to his career when he gained 61K monthly listeners and 740k streams for ‘On Like 40’ in its first 7 months. His new release is likely to soar, as well. “The process of “Oh, San Francisco” has been a roller coaster, to say the least,” Zimma says. “Its initial inspiration was from a feeling of wanting to go back to normal life after COVID started. As political movements progressed like BLM it reminded me of what life was possibly like in the 60s during political and cultural revolutions, thus bringing the final song together. It’s built off of 6 different mixes, 3 masters, and countless hours in the studio with his band and independent producer group, The Whoadees at The Grill Studios in Emeryville, CA.” Be sure to connect with Jake on his website, social media, and digital music platforms.
